City Square

Quick Overview

City Square is the first impression many people get of Leeds when leaving the train station. With impressive buildings such as the Old Post Office, One Park Row and the Queen’s Hotel, it’s certainly an impressive one. In the centre of the square is an impressive statue of the Black Prince on horseback, around the square are statues and cherubs, and in the middle, an semicircle of fountains coming out of the floor.

This photograph was taken in November 2008, the Christmas tree was in place, but the lights not turned on. In the foreground we see a blurred man carrying his shopping and a young girl taking a photo of the fountains. The large building to the rear is “One City Square” .
