Adelphi and Leeds Bridge Building

Quick Overview

This impressive image showcases a couple of the finest buildings south of the river in Leeds. The Adelphi is a huge traditional pub, which still has 4 separate rooms, contrary to most pubs where multiple rooms were converted into one large room. It was of course a Tetley pub, it’s right outside the Brewery, but these days it’s taken on a wider brief, serving up several hand pulled real ales, continental lagers, wines and food.

The Leeds Bridge Building, with it’s curved, triangular appearance, is reminiscent of the Flat Iron Building on Broadway, New York; obviously not as tall, but just as pleasing to the eye.

In the gap between the two, we see part of the world famous Tetley Brewery. The future of brewing on this site is in the balance, who knows how long Leeds’ most famous drink will be made here?
